Missiles and Bombs Guidance Types Missiles and bombs are cool weapons that can be used as an alternative or complement to guns, but without a way to guide them, it can be a little hard to use. However, most of them can be equipped with guidance. Here we will list all the guidance types that ACE has.

How to Install Guidance on Missiles/Bombs? If you see the ammo stats when you are making ammo for a missile or bomb, you will see a box containing the word "dumb" normally. There you can change the guidance package if there are others available.

The list is as follows: Dumb : This package is the default one, and it doesn't guide, so it provides no control.

Wire: This method will allow us to send missiles to specific positions according to a vector provided via wire. This cannot be confused/jammed, but the missile will lose control at 500 meters.

Laser: This method is somewhat similar to wire. The main difference is that the missile can be sent to distances far greater than 400 meters, but only at the time the missile seeker is "looking at" that position.

SACLOS: This guidance package reads a target-position from the launcher and guides the munition towards it. The launcher must have line-of-sight to the missile.

Beam_Riding: This guidance package directs the missile to keep it in line with the sight as if it were riding a beam. gives the missile good maneuverability. can be overridden by the Optical Computer.

SemiActive: This guidance package will guide the missile towards targets acquired by your tracking radars.

Infrared: Here we are installing a heat seeker, which makes the missile track the hottest target in front of it and guides the munition towards it. This guidance can be confused with flares.

Top_Attack_IR: Basically the same as Infrared, but first it will climb to an altitude and then dive at the target’s thinnest armor.

Radar: This package will search for the closest radio waves in front of the missile and will destroy them. This guidance can be jammed using an ECM or using chaff with a specific way.

AntiRadiation: In this method, the missile detects any radar emissions and heads toward them.

AntiMissile: This package will detect launched missiles in front of the seeker and will guide the munition towards them. SAM missiles can use this method only.

GPS: It's a kind of fire-and-forget guidance; it doesn't require direct line-of-sight to the target. It only recieves a one-time position when fired, this also means it can't change targets after launch—usually used on guided bombs and artillery rockets.

GPS_TerrainAvoidant: Basically the same as GPS, but it maintains low altitude and automatically avoids any obstacles ahead, typically used on cruise missiles.

GLATGM Optical Computer: (This is an entity and not a guidance package inserted into a missile) This computer is used to guide GLATGM ammunition to the direction where its screen is pointed (missiles which are fired from the cannon). Although the guidance is done by the gun by default, that can be overridden by using these devices. To override it, just put a computer close to the gun which will fire the ATGM, and the missile will automatically use the computer guidance. Also works on Beam riding guidance.
