The **StarfallEx** standard library — the `hologram`, `render`, `net`, `http`, physics, entity and other libraries/types available inside a Starfall chip. Mirrors [thegrb93.github.io/StarfallEx](https://thegrb93.github.io/StarfallEx/), parsed from the addon source. Grouped by library/type.

StarfallEx

Starfall, but with active development and more features. Write Garry's mod chips similar to E2, but in lua

Sets the current render material to the given material or the rendertarget, applying a color modification shader to the texture. Alias: render.setMaterialEffectColourModify

setMaterialEffectColorModify

The material object to use the texture of, or the name of a rendertarget to use instead.

A table where each key must be of "addr", "addg", "addb", "brightness", "color" or "colour", "inv" or "invert", "contrast", "mulr", "mulg", and "mulb". All keys are optional.

cmStructure

Creates a new render target to draw onto. The dimensions will always be 1024x1024

createRenderTarget

name

Creates an effect data structure angles - Angle angle of the effect attachment - number Entity attachment id to attach to color - number The color to set the effect (This is an 8 bit color integer specific to the effect implementation) damagetype - number The damage type of the effect entindex - number The entity index to set the effect to (SERVER only) entity - Entity entity to set the effect to flags - number Flags to add to the effect hitbox - number The hitbox id of the effect magnitude - number A magnitude value of the effect materialindex - number The material index of the effect normal - Vector A normal vector of the effect origin - Vector The origin vector of the effect radius - number The radius value of the effect scale - number The scale value of the effect start - Vector the start vector of the effect surfaceprop - number The surfaceprop id of the effect

create

data

(Optional) Make the effect play for everyone, even in predicted hooks. Only affects Server-side effects.

nofilter

Creates a "beam ring point" effect, like the AR2 orb explosion

beamRingPoint

How long the effect will be drawing for, in seconds (clamped: 0 to 25.6)

lifetime

Initial radius of the effect (clamped: -4096 to 4096)

startRad

Final radius of the effect (clamped: -4096 to 4096)

endRad

How thick the beam should be (clamped: 0 to 128)

width

How noisy the beam should be (clamped: 0 to 64)

amplitude

color

Causes the beam to start faded if set to any integer other than 0 (clamped: 0 to 255)

speed

flags

framerate

The material to use instead of the default one

material

Returns how many bytes you can write right now with file.writeTemp

getWriteTempBurstBytes

Number of bytes that the file.writeTemp burst allows

Given a texture key, reloads file-based textures from disk, or clears render target textures.

downloadTexture

The material key name that has the texture. $basetexture is the key name for most purposes.
